No more drilling for our oil for at least 7 years?

Obama has said no more drilling for oil for 7 years. this killed my hubby;s job and she is now working local at 25% of what we were making. We can see that we are starting to pay a lot more at the pumps and this is a direct impact from us not drilling our own oil. I do feel sorry for the fish that died from the spill, as I do feel even more sorry for the people who die in car crashes and plane crashes. but do we halt cars, halt planes? no we find a way to make it safer and go on. as Obama should have done with the oil.... we will soon be at 5 bux a gallon or more. why is china getting permits from us to drill off out shores? it does not make sense to me at all.
