Toshiba will not take OS or do syatem repair.. no valid partition ? Thats just the start no room to tell all.?

The laptop locked up said something about being under patton # such and such So i bought a new windows 7 operating system 200 bux thought that would fix it well it gets to set up and will not continue.Well then i try to use the repair option and it just keeps spinning and does nothing it say no valid partition
